Invitations

There is danger in the idea that we have "Invited Christ into" our lives, when it is He who has invited us to throw our lives to the wind and enter into His life of eternal glory.

Under the former circumstance we cannot help but to expect - and even demand - that Christ, as our invited guest, make our lives better in some way. The seeds of ungratefulness and rebellion are already sown.

But if we truly remember Who has invited us, and who we were before He did so, there can be only thankfulness, which is the seed of joy.
(See Luke 14:16-18)
